New Bridal Plastic Surgery TV Show Set To Air
December 2, 2010 at 11:35 am 0
bridoplastyThere's a new TV show coming to E!, the Entertainment network, which promises to be as disturbing and ridiculous as it sounds - Bridoplasty. The show promises to award women on the show plastic surgery for winning weekly challenges in order to look "perfect" for their wedding. The craziest part? The girls future husbands will not know what they look like until they say "I do". How scary is that? Stop the insanity!!!!! Where are the fun loving, feel good, make a positive, lasting impression kind of shows??? Isn't it enough that we're in a terrible economy that is limping to the slowest ever recovery? But to add to it, there are a gazillion shows on tv that show the lowest of the low, people gripped with insecurities, and other shows that aspire to show people in shocking, and humiliating situations. Like we said before, thank goodness for this

Most women notice the signs of aging on their face and bodies and don't know how to shake it. Their skin isn't as tight as before, their eyes are a bit droopy, fine lines are creeping up, and things just aren't as perky as they used to be. Feel bad about it? You're not alone! Recently British tv show 10 Years Younger has had a refresh and is capitalizing on women's fears of getting older and frumpier. The show takes two women, both of whom look like they need a serious refresh, through a journey of self revitalization. While one of the women goes under the knife, the other turns to more natural fixes like facials, better nutrition and accupuncture. While they are getting their appearance in order they also get to figure out their personal style and get a wardrobe makeover, in addition to haircuts and health and wellness advice. Oh, and it's England, so sometimes they need new teeth too! It's amazing to see how the two women look after their transformations! Whatever your position on plastic surgery, you have to admit, it's pretty nice to see ladies have a whole new lease on life from looking good and feeling great.

But the interesting thing is that the women who have had plastic surgery almost always look just as good as the women who took the natural route. Go figure!

How Reality TV Taught Me About Love
November 14, 2009 at 12:25 pm 0

I have a confession. I love reality tv. My very favourite show is Tori and Dean. When I first watched the show I wasn't that into it. Tori seemed kind of whiny and high maintenance. But the more I watched it the more I liked it because Tori and Dean seem to have a lovely relationship. It taught me that when your priorities are straight, when your husband and family come before anything else, the other pieces just seem to fall into place. There's less challenge in struggling career and family, because when you know your most important job is your family, I guess you don't stay late at work and leave your kids with their nanny night after night. You also make sure that doing lovely things happen regularly, like surprising your honey for Valentine's Day or taking a weekend trip away. And Tori and Dean are always doing kind and thoughtful things for each other. They really respect each others wishes, and they make spending time together as a family a priority, and they keep the sparks alive. It's lovely to see.
