So Ready For Spring Shopping at Pink Tartan
March 14, 2011 at 1:43 pm 0

Pink Tartan pink jumpsuit

Ugh, winter. That's all there is left to say about how grey and long this winter has been. But....the great news is that it's almost over!!! And the even better news is that Pink Tartan has the most unbelievable Spring lineup, and we're dying to pick it up at their new flagship location. Nothing makes me happier than the thought of warm Spring days, light jackets, and open toed shoes. Not to mention that I am over the moon that colour is IN this Spring. I love colour! Pinks, oranges, purples, blues....oh, bliss. On my list of Pink Tartan favourites this Spring: - super fun pink jumpsuit (above) - romantic and strong yellow dress (below) - bright short shorts (second below)

Aren't they gorgeous? Now we just need to throw some fabulous parties so we can look as perfectly glam as these clothes deserve! (And some fabulous shoes and new jewels wouldn't hurt either!)

Great Bridesmaid Dresses at Great Prices
August 6, 2010 at 7:53 am 1
davids_bridesmaiddress

Recently we discovered this great resource for finding just the right bridesmaid dresses for a great price. This has been such a huge relief! When we were shopping for all the bridal stuff for our wedding it was really kind of nightmarish! Rushing into different stores, going back a few times, waiting for the change rooms to empty out…so many headaches…it was actually really stressful. Not to mention that we ended up buying 3 different dresses because we just wanted to get out of the stores as soon as we could – only to find out we didn’t really like what we actually bought! So, if you don’t like stress, or having to go back several times to stores to find just the right dress try out David's online store. They have a great selection and great prices. We’re even thinking of buying dresses from the site for other parties, not just weddings!

Fun And Sexy Spring Dresses From BCBG
February 25, 2010 at 12:44 pm 1
There are loads of new fun dresses at BCBG now that look absolutely divine! Now that Spring is here it's time to put away the dark clothes, the extra layers, and the salty boots and embrace colour and fun prints for Spring. This gorgeous dress has colours but offers enough coverage so that you can wear it to the office too! For $158 it's a decent price for a well made dress that can go from work to cocktails sooo easily.

A fun and sassy dress that's office appropriate

This super fun printed dress definitely makes a statement, but the conservative cut tones it down perfectly! At $128 and a body hugging pattern this looks like a great choice for a party, night out with the girls, or a third date!

Colour and a conservative cut make a perfect match!

This tiered one shouldered dress is romantic and sexy at the same time, making it a perfect date dress! It's $296, so definitely more pricey, but with this style you can get tonnes of use out of it!

A sexy and romatinc dress all in one!

Wedding Dress Shopping
January 4, 2010 at 12:20 pm 0

Just for the record I’m not a typical bride. I’ve never dreamed of what my wedding would be like, I’m not that worried what my dress looks like, and dealing with everyone’s requests and suggestions makes everything seem more like a hassle than fun. And it’s not that I’m not excited to get married. I’m very excited to share my life (officially) with my chosen one. It’s just the whole procedure of the wedding seems a bit much. If I had my way we’d be going to city hall, sharing a glass of champagne and then going on a cool trip. But…my Latino fiancé and his big family would never have it. And I don’t want to be the evil gringa in the eyes of his family. So, a big wedding it is! Our compromise is to do it in Mexico, as a destination wedding. And based on all the schedules in the wedding magazines I’m already late. Everyone says you should do this 18 months to 6 months prior to your wedding. Holy Cow!

So three months out I hit the streets in search of a suitable wedding dress. I had a vague idea of what I wanted. Fun, light, flowy, pretty basic – and not expensive. I am blown away at the $2,000 price tags on so many dresses! And I’m a girl that likes to spend money on things I love, but a dress I wear once just seems crazy to spend so much money on. I’d be happy with a $50 dress. I can digest $300, but more than that makes me wiggle inside.

Armed with friends and family we went on a search for a dress. We went to three different stores, and tried on a few different dresses at each place. It was so much fun to wear princess dresses and try everything on without looking at the price tag. Of course that wasn’t my reality but I just wanted to have fun and pretend I had no limits. It was fun but also pretty tiring. Who knew wedding dress shopping was so much work!

Fashion Find – One Fab Dress in 6 Sexy Ways!
August 28, 2009 at 3:15 pm 3
A few weeks ago I went to Frugal Fashion Week. It was a very cool event, with lots of small designers and boutique owners showing their clothes, jewelry, and beauty products. I went with a friend and we had a lovely brunch accompanied with some mimosas. I’ve never understood why everyone loved brunch but after a light meal, girl talk and a slightly smiley feeling from my mimosa it all became clear! After our brunch we headed downstairs to the silent auction area. I always love to give to charity so I was keen to find something that I could bid on…and find I did! I won the bid for this AMAZING 6 way dress from Fashion Crimes! I went into the store to figure out how the dress worked and was blown away by the various uses and looks for this dress. I’m sure every recessionista will love this! The dress comes in a variety of colours, and I couldn’t resist the bright blue. I got some help from the lovely Robyn, a stylist at the store, who showed me all the different ways to wear the dress. From conservative to downright sexy this dress pretty much has it all! I’m not sure where I’m going to wear it to, but I can’t wait to travel with it. Imagine one dress that’s wrinkle free that will give you six different looks!

Statement Dress
June 24, 2009 at 7:19 pm 3
I've been on the lookout for a statement dress recently. I haven't found what I'm looking for exactly, but I did find this knockout dress online. I just love the butterfly inspired mix of colurs, the generous cut of the dress, and the detailing with sparkles and feathers. Can't you just imagine how much fun you'd have in this dress?
